Introduction...

Ok.... I was challenged to start a blog that's relatable to others and hopefully the writing will do for me what it has done for writers in the past.....yada yada yada... For the life of me I could not figure out a title that would sum up any advice I could give anyone, and then all of a sudden it came to me....just like an Epiphany...lol... It's early bear with me.... Well I figured a shot in the dark is relatable due to the fact that no one really knows the magnitude of any issue especially when they are giving the advice until all is revealed... The person giving the advice is in the dark and the only way to reach out is to shoot....lol... Or you can look at it another way. You could be in the dark and blindly step out on faith for help. Stepping out is the shot in the dark, because no one knows how the situation will play out. You do, however, know that you took a shot in the dark... Are you following me?... Ok cool. Many people are going to say to themselves that's not what a shot in the dark means, but the title of the blog is to be left for interpretation for the reader and let's just leave it at that... Now let's get started.

This year I turned the ripe old age of 25 and in the process of living a quarter of a century, I couldn't help but do a small audit of my life... or what constituted my life at the time... Internally what I found to be truth for myself really didn't exist anymore. I just felt myself going through the motions as I had previously done before going to college. I had not noticed I was a shell of my former self and I was waiting to break free... The “Shot in the Dark," came in the form of a conversation with myself.... "Why do I care so much what others think, because I'm going to be me anyway?"... To me it's the age old story of transcending other's opinions of your life to find your own happiness. Getting to this point was rough, but nothing I could not bear... We can leave the details for another day. Let me know what you think...

For the Alfie's of the world.... "Sometimes you have to ask yourself, what's it all about," simply stated by Alfie (played by Jude Law) in the 2000ish remake of the classic movie 'Alfie'. Many times I do ask myself that, "What's it all about? I ask myself this question daily, but not in the same context of the movie, more so on the level of breaking habits that can have you chasing your "Tail"; for lack of better words.
